I've got this sore on the side of my tongue that hurts bad and has been there for a few days now. I didn't bite my tongue or anything so that can't be it. It's not white/discolored either, just a sore swollen spot. I also have a sore throat, hurts to swallow, etc. Any idea what this could be? I've heard a combination of sore throat/sore tongue on just one side can be tongue cancer...

As a side note, for about a year I've had a white coat towards the middle/back of my tongue. A tongue scraper gets it off but it's back the next day.

The white stuff is probably candida overgrowth (intestinal flora or yeast). Totally normal. Why do you suspect that it might be tongue cancer?
