I suffer from severe TMD, one day i woke up with clogged ears as if i was riding high in the sky on an airplane. It's been a year now of trying differnt treatments and nothing has worked.

I'm currently wearing a splint, I tried wearing a bottem splint for about 2 months until the doctor got so fed up with my jaw not healing that he gave up. I'm seeing a new doctor now that has me on a top splint, It helps with the pain feeling as if my jaw was going to fall right off my face, but what it doesn't help with is my hearing loss and swelling. My hearing loss is so bad that I can hardly even hold a conversation with a person face to face without having to read their lips, infact it's so bad i learnt to read lips... kinda funny to look over at the car next to me and listen to their conversation. At this point in time being 18 years old im feeling pretty hopeless, I'm a singer/song writer and love what i do with a passion, only now im so helplessly depressed that some days i just don't even want to get out of bed. It's really hard being a teenager with this damn disease, cause in this world you have to be able to play a part, and with my jaw probelm I'm only half of the roll.

I don't quite understand why my hearing is so crappy now, i went to an ENT doctor and my ears are perfect, so that rules out any damage to the ear drum. I'm wishing for a magic wand, some sort of helpful information that might able to lead me in the right direction that might save me from having to live with deafness forever, I kid you not its that bad. If anyone has any advice, support, or experiences... im completly open to listen and willing to do just about anything now..

thanks

Extremely eHealthy
I had problems with my ears. I also am a singer. Neuromuscular dentistry is what helped me get through it. it took all the pressure off my ears so i can hear again

use heat and ice on the joints. you wont have a "fix" over night --it takes time. if you arent already take an anti inflamitory. it will help. and keep to a soft diet.
