Q: yaz : very light pink or brown bleeding b/c of birth control pi
asked by: DoctorQuestion on December 12th, 2007
I was prescribed yaz by my doctor for protection, and was told to wait to start until the first day of my period. So I waited, and took the pills. It's been 8 days on it now and my entire period was very light sometimes pink or brown. I was wondering if this was because of the pills or if I should be worried because it sounds a lot like implantation bleeding. Me and my boyfriend were fooling around 3 days prior to me starting the pills, but I'm still a virgin. I've read though that you can get pregnant without having sex. It happened to a girl I know too. What do you think?

There's no way to get pregnant without having sex unless you are artificially inseminated. In fact, not having sex (abstinence) is the only 100% secure contraceptive method. Contraceptive pills are also very efficient (above 99%) ... but only if used properly.

It seems that your period changed because of the contraceptive pills. That is normal and expected so you can continue taking the birth control pills according to the prescription. Implantation bleeding doesn't exist in medical circles.
