My Arthritis Managed Without Drugs

In 1994 I had severe arthritis. Both of my knees swelled up and hurt really bad. I feared loosing my ability to work. My husband cooked dinner because I couldn't stand that long. At night the sheets just touching my knees hurt and I had to sleep with my knees uncovered hanging over the edge of the bed.

I went to an orthopedic doctor and he said it was not osteoarthritis after x -rays. He wanted me to go to an RA doctor. this freaked me out. My aunt has RA and she has been on debilitating drugs for many years. It made her look like a blimp.

I went to the health food store instead. Our local store had a real good library. I found out about a substance called CMO, Cetyl Myristoleate. Its a natural compound made from whale fat and now more recently derived from plant sources. The little book I found about it told me that I would be well before long. It was expensive back then. I paid almost $70 for the bottle but as it turned out I didn't even need the whole bottle. Now the prices vary from $15 to $40.

After one week of treatment I was wondering why I was still taking the stuff as I was pain free. I did the whole bottle because thats what the book recommended. I have had to repeat it about 3 times over the last 13 years, when ever I feel that my knees were starting to feel weird.

These days I pay $15 for it! Same company they reduced the price when manufacturing changed. I always keep it around incase someone comes over and they have arthritis. I just give it to them.

If you do a search on CMO or Cetyl myristoleate you will find a lot of products now that have it. Some are mixed with herbs but I used just the straight CMO.

If you are on steroids for RA do not just quit cold turkey as this can cause a rebound flair up. You need to gradually cut back.
