I am a 27 year old female who is fairly active. I have had 6 previous knee surgeries. 2 right knee scopes, 2 right knee ACL reconstructions, 1 left knee scope, and 1 left knee ACL reconstruction

. I was recently walking and my left knee snapped and gave away

. Nevertheless I could barely walk for 3 days. It hurt like hell. I went to my ortho doc( not the one who operated on my knees), I was too embarrassed to tell that doctor that. Well this doc examined my left knee and told me that my ACL was torn

. My left knee is supposed to be my good knee. He took some X-rays and told me that the tunnels that were drilled were not placed in a position that would allow the graft to stick

. He also told me that I had osteoarthritis in my left knee. I know eventually that Ill have to undergo another surgery. I dont want to have another ACL reconstruction, besides ortho doc said it would be to complicated. I was wandering if a proximal tibial osteotomy would be a better alternative? I know Ill have to go back to ortho doc before spring semester starts. Im 99.5% sure how the torn ACL happened.
Need some advice. I have dropped 58 lbs in the past 8 months. So I know that no matter how much I lose it still wont make the pain go away. Still losing though. Help!!!
