a Depression Pick Me Up Song Posted: 12-11-07 12:34pm
By Barry Manalow:
We dreamers have our way
of facing rainy days,
And somehow we servive
We keep the feelings warm,
Protect them from the storm
until the time arrives,Then one day the
sun appears
And we come shinning though
those lonley years
I made it throught the rain,
I kept my point of view,
I made it throught the rain,
And found myself respected
By others who
Got rained on too
And made it thought
And life seems so unkind
Sometimes you feel so afraid
Just aim above the clouds
And start your own parade
Cause when I chased my fears away
That's when I knew that I could finally
say,
I made it though the rain
I kept my world protected
I made it though the rain
And found myself protected
By others who
Got rained on too
And made it though.
We will overcome!

Rainy Day People - By Gordon Lightfoot Posted: 12-13-07 01:07am
Rainy day people seem to know when it's
time to call
Rainy day people don't talk they just
listen, they heard it all.
Rainy day lovers don't lie when they tell
ya, they've been down like you
Rainy day people don't mind if you cry a
tear or two
If you get lonely all you really need is
that rainy day love
Rainy day people knows there is no sorrow
they can't rise above
Rainy day lovers don't love anyothers, oh
there not that kind
Rainy day people know how it all hangs on
a peace of mind
Rainy day lovers don't lie when they tell
ya, they've been down there too
Rainy day people don't mind if you cry a
tear or two
Rainy day people always seem to know when
you're feelin blue
High steppin' strutters land in the
gutter. Sometimes, I need one too.
Take it or leave it, or try and believe
it, when your down too low
Rainy day lovers don't hide nothin'
inside
They just pass it on.
Rainy day lovers don't hide nothin'
inside
They just pass it on
I had to listen to the lyrics 20x. Forgive
me if there was an error.

The other morning I felt that I couldn't
go on. I was grabbing the worse CDs I
could find. I listen to Jim Morrison sing
about The End about 5 times. I decide to
switch to Gordon Lightfoot. Some of his
music is very dark and sad. I came across
this song, and I started to cry. I had
trouble stopping.

Barry Manilow himself drives me a little
bit bonkers.. I'm not going to lie. His
lyrics (whether he himself writes them or
not) are pretty fantastic, though. Thanks
for posting them, MsCarrie!... I never
would have listened to them otherwise.
