Q: Nipple Ring Gone Bad??

I got both my nips done this past valentine's day, and besides the pain from the first day, they never gave me any troubles. But the place I went to, the guy didn't tell me how to clean them properly, and he actually told me to put neosporen on them (which I found out later you're never supposed to do) but after about 3wks to a month they started getting dry and a nasty crust would form on the rings where the holes were. I've since learned the proper way to clean them and have used the sea salt soak, and the nasty crust has pretty much stopped, but i've developed this big painful lump in my right breast. It grew very rapidly and is pretty big ( about the size of a flat golf ball) and the skin is slightly discolored as if I had a bruise on my breast. The only thing I could find even remotly like this on the web was something about an abcsess due to infection but it described it being right under the piercing and the size of a marble, which mine is much larger, painfull, and in between my nipple and middle of my chest, not really that close to the nipple. I've avoided going to the doctor since I don't have insurance and doing poorly enough in my $$ situation. Has anyone else experienced or even heard of this??? I spoke to a friend of mine that does peircings for a living and he said he'd have to see it (but you know how guys are) and that he'd change my rings to barbells and that should help them from being aggravated, but i'm still super freaked about this lump!! Help me out!! Sad

Extremely eHealthy
I would definately go to the doctor! It may be an infection from your nipple ring, or it could have nothing to do with that. It could be a cyst or a lump that needs to be removed. I would go to like a family planning clinic. They are cheaper and they can at least "feel" it and tell you what you should do. But I would get it checked as soon as possible. You don't want to mess around with it. Good luck.

Try This
Hey have you tried asking a doctor online? There's a site called pdpconnect.Com where you can email a doctor your concerns and he'll email you back. If you don't have enough money to see a doctor face-to-face, this could be a good option. I know they've helped me out a few times.
