Hi just wondering can someone who is schizophenic 'pass' down the genes to a family member let say the mom who is a schizophenic can she pass it to a her child, not schizophenic but bi-polar instead?

Yep-
however, it's a slightly higher risk. Not a sure thing.
In the DSM-IV, it states that there seems to be a slightly higher risk for schizophrenia for siblings and children of people with schizophrenia, and I think for bipolar disorder as well.
