Q: Getting Discouraged

This Saturday will be a month that I've been dieting & I'm still stuck at the weight I was when I started. 161. I FEEL like I've lost weight though, that's what's getting to me. I don't feel like I have so much fat hanging around my stomach & I've been told twice now that it looks like I'm losing weight in my face. So why the heck isn't the scale dropping Sad It's starting to get discouraging.

Are you exercising at all? Muscle weighs more than fat, so that may be why you are not seeing the scale drop. Don't pay attention to the number on the scale. You will only get more discouraged. Go to your closet and grab a pair of old jeans that you would like to wear again and have that be your goal.
At least you are trying. I complain all the time about being heavy, but I can't break away from snacking long enough to lose weight.

Good luck.

I try to exercise but it's not a daily thing. I have an exercise ball that I do crunches & things on but after I get done chasing Kaylee around all day I don't have the energy for that. The jeans idea is a good one, I'll have to go through my clothes. Maybe I'll hang them up in the kitchen so I see them all the time to keep me going!

The more overweight a person is, the easier and faster weight loss is. If there is only a little bit of weight to lose then it's harder and takes more time. My weights around where yours is right now too.

Are you only dieting? If you want to see a change faster you probably want to include daily exercise.

Good luck, don't get discouraged! Instead of only weighing yourself maybe get a tape measurer and get the measurements of your stomach, waist, hips, thighs, etc, then you can actually see how smaller everything is getting over time.

hang in there !

One month is a great accomplishment. Don't use ur scale often it only drags you down.....exercise would kinda help you more.

If you are too tired after chasing Kaylee at the end of the day why not get up 40 minutes earlier in the mornings to exercise. You will find it actually gives you more energy. That would solve three problems
a) exercising while you still have energy and before Kaylee gets up
b) creating more energy for yourself
c) faster weight loss

Hmm I'll have to get a tape measure.. I think the numbers might scare me a little bit though! My thighs especially are huge. I've been trying not to use the scale that often, it's tempting though. Since I started this no soda kick I've been weighing myself at the end of every week so see if I've made any progress but it's said 161.8 every single time.

I'm going to start exercising more, I have to if I wanna see these results. Watch me actually start seeing more progress & then Shane decide he's ready for Baby #2!

Does anyone know if there are any free workout videos online? I'd love to do Tae Bo or something along those lines.

I'll have to try that! Only thing is I hate exercising in front of Shane. Weird I know but I just hate him seeing me all jiggly lol. So I would have to work it around when he's not here.

I've been doing everything right too. I don't drink any soda & if I do it's a 12 ounce can of Caffiene Free Diet Pepsi every few days. I've been watching what I eat, I haven't been eating anything after 7pm. I'll start exercising more & hope that I at least see a pound or so come off..

You should probably target problems food. Believe it or not too much fruit can make you keep weight on. Fruit has sugar in it, sugar (even natural sugar) tells your body to store fat. That's not a good thing. I have heard of people switching to sugar free mints and gum and then losing alot of weight.

I know it is tough because it seems like I am stuck at 150. I was stuck at 155 then I went off the pill and it has gotten a little bit better.

I am with ya girl! We can so do it Smile
