Have ANY of you actually gone into the doctor? Seriously, go. Get a blood test. My periods are ALWAYS light colored, orangeish, and rather, um watery?...that is the best way to put it. I went to the doctor at the age of 13, when my periods finally regulated enough (I started at 9 years)and it turns out that I am, and have been, Iron Deficit Anemic, which can turn your blood thin, light pink to orange, and can actually cause heavier more painful periods. Seriously, if something is wrong with the area downstairs, see your doctor. It could be so many things, from anemia to excess riboflavin from consuming too much from either your diet or energy drinks (I work in the lab at a hospital, that stuff CAN turn your blood orangeish, it can also turn pee an orangeish color), to pregnancy, to STD's. No one on this forum can give you a diagnosis, we can offer suggestions, but when it comes down to it, please do see your doctor.

The mysterious Orange period
I have been reading a lot about also possible anemia. If you period blood is orange.. it would not hurt to go to a doctor and get blood test along with pap smear for bacteria and urine test. i have been having this issue steady for 4-5 months now with no change. I see a Doctor visit in my near future

Re: EVRA PATCH + CIPRO XL + ORANGE VAGINAL DISCHARGE
Playdoh wrote:
I am currently having the same discharge... orange pinkish..

It started out with me having an urinary infection, the doctor then prescribed me CIPRO XL and told me that the antibio shouldn't interfer with my evra patch (birth control patch (canada) )... meaning that it wouldn't mess things up and I could'nt get pregnant even if I had sex.

So, Wednesday I had sex, thursday I went to see the doctor, she gave me CIPRO and saturday I started to get a pinkish discharge (btw I was still on my evra patch and was only schedule to have my period in 1 week from saturday) so now it's day 8 of me still bleeding and it's now turned to bright orange... I am very scared and have no clue what could be going on. Please help.

I was just as scared as You were until My Doctor told Me that besides My spotting pink, which is more than likely a side affect from taking birth control pills etc, I have a Urinary Tract Infection so he prescribed Me some CYPRO/CIPRO(3 day Antibiotic). And as we all know from Chemistry or Mixing paint, that pink(discharge)+ yellow(urine) =ORANGE! I took a q-tip & inserted it inside to see what color it would be & it was Normal to light pink, not orange. The main concern should be that there isn't any consistent abdominal pain present with a foul smell or yellow/gray/greenish discharge coming from your vagina! So Don't loose Your Mind or Stress out about it, Your Post among Many helped Me to relax & know that it wasn't anything Serious/Life threatening-just one of our many feminine problems that we all go through from time to time! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!! Wink

Take another pregnancy test (this time wait at least two weeks after you last had sex), if it comes back positive or unreadable again then make a doctors appointment yourself. Your mum could well be right, these things do happen. Whatever the result, you should know by now the risks of having unprotected sex. If the doctor does come back and say everything is fine, you should get an sti check and ask to go on the pill or use a condom next time!
