Q: So Sick :(

I need a place to complain, haha. I have been really sick the past two weeks. I thought it was just a cold (stuffy nose, cough), but this morning I woke up and I felt a lot worse. I figured it's not good to have a cold that long, so I went to the doctors.

Turns out I'm developing pneumonia AND bronchitis. Ugh.

I'm SO worn out. Getting out of bed seems like such a chore, but I'm so bored laying in bed all day.

I have so much to do, too. I have papers to write, projects to do, and I even have a final that I have to go to tomorrow night. I can't concentrate on writing or studying at all, though.

I can't sleep because I can't breathe through my nose at night, so I breathe through my mouth and then my throat gets dry and I start to cough and wake up literally every 45 minutes or so. I am so exhausted its not even funny.

Also, I feel like I need/want a backrub really bad, but then whenever my skin is touched, it feels terrible and sore Sad

I need something to occupy myself with/cheer me up. Sorry for complaining!

Try sleeping with a humidifier, that may help your throat out a bit.

I think its a rule to feel like absolute junk during finals week. Wink

I'm in the same spot but I've only been sick around a week. And winter finally decided to show up so the cold wheather plus chlorine has chapped my skin to an unbearable point.

Night time I just take some night cough medicine and wait for it to make me fall asleep. I may wake up like 5 hours later for whatever reason but at least I got thoes hours right?

Good luck on finals and I hope you feel better soon Sad

Oy I know about the chlorine, I did swim team in highschool. Sometimes I just wanted to fill a tub full of lotion and soak in it XD

Yikes, pneumonia and bronchitis!!! You'll feel better soon once the meds kick in Smile I'm lucky... I feel just fine this week and it's finals for me, too.

lol thats exactly how I feel right now. Swimming used to be in the fall for me so I never had to deal with this winter and chlorine thing although you'd think I would have remembered this from my freshman year!!!

My face is the worst part, and the only lotion I have at the momment is also for acne so its like acid to the skin so I'm avoiding it at the momment or at least until I can beg my roommate to bring to target for something better.

You are sooo lucky for being healthy! I have yet to make it through the end of a semester and not feel junk!

Thanks! I haven't even gotten to take my meds yet. I just got them about two hours ago. You have to take them every 12 hours, though, so if I took them now that would mean I have to take them again at 4:30 in the morning and that doesn't make sense. I'll have to wait until 10 or so tonight so I can get it on an even 12 hour schedule.

I just coughed up a lot of green stuff and then it triggered my gag reflex from coughing so hard/making stuff come up, and it made me throw up Sad ughhh. Hope that doesn't happen during my final!

I hate that, when I have a cold. Try putting a little olbas oil (dunno if you have that where you live? It has eucalyptus, so maybe anything with that in will work too) on a tissue and put that in your pillow cover. It clears your nose while you sleep. You can also put a bit in a bowl of hot water and leave it in your room overnight.

Thanks for the ideas Smile I think I might try the bowl of hot water tonight (since I don't have any of that oil or a humidifier in my apartment).

On a side note, I am getting worse. My cough won't stop, my nose feels like it has two cinderblocks in them, the sinus pressure is giving me a killer headache, and now I have a fever of 101. Hopefully the meds will start to work soon :/

Thanks so much! I feel a bit better in some ways this morning, but a bit worse in others. My fever is minimal now (down to 99.4!), but now when I blow my nose its an ugly yellow-green mixed with blood...ugh. Sad I hear its usually because you're blowing too hard when that happens, but I've been trying my best to blow gently. Oh well.

My cough is still killer, too. Luckily I only have one final today. It's not until 6 at night. I don't know if it's good or bad. It could be good because I have a bit more time to study and time to let my body get better. It could be bad, because my sickness is usually worse at night and I might be so exhausted by then. It's a 30 min commute which I really don't feel like doing, haha.

Anyways, thanks for the suggestions and nice words everyone
