Do I Have a Thyroid Problem? Posted: 12-09-07 02:31am
I am an 18 yr old college student who just
started college this semester
I have recently developed heavy fast heart
palpitations, dizzyness, insomnia
i've had a chest x-ray which was normal
and an echocardiogram which was also
normal
i haven't gotten blood tests yet, i am in
the next two weeks.
i'm just curious about this being a
thyroid problem, is it common or even
possible at this age
please let me know
thank you!

Do you usually experience fatigue at the
end of the day, but have trouble falling
asleep?
Have you noticed that you are irritable
and easily upset?
Do you feel hotter than those around you?
Have you slowly lost weight even though
you may be eating more?

I'm not usually tired during the day,
other than the couple of hours after i
wake up, but i have had trouble falling
asleep every night. i lay there for about
3 hours before i pass out
i feel hot when it's in the 60's like in
my room..
i haven't been losing a significant amount
of weight, it fluctuates by about 5 or 6
pounds.

The symptoms you have can be due to
thyroid gland problem, but also insomnia
due to other causes can lead to
palpitations and dizziness.
Have you received your blood test
already?
Do you have pale and cold skin?
Do you breath rapidly?
Are you experiencing dizziness and passing
out, especially upon standing?
Was it insomnia the initial symptom you
had?
