I just started on the ring about two and a half weeks ago (love it so far, but really too soon to form a solid opinion on it) but I was wondering how the pregnancy protection works after the initial 7 days.

Assuming you do everything correctly, are you *always* protected once you're on NuvaRing? Specifically... what about the week you take it out to have your period, but *before* you actually start? And, when you put it back in after the week break, do you have to wait any amount of time to be protected again, since it's been out?

And, I was also wondering.. I know you're supposed to put a new one back in at the same time of day as you took it out.. So, does that mean if you're some amount of time late in putting it in, that you're not protected? And if so, how many hours would that be?
