Q: Today My Docter Refused to Treat Me - thinks I took narcotics

today i went to goshwin medical center. i went the week before and she put me out of work for a week.i have severe back pain.she prescribed me lortab naproxen and muscle relaxers.also told me to stay off my feet and not to work.i thought i had finally found a great dr.see i dont have ins. this is like a clinic based on your income.today she called me in and said so what happened to the narcotics i prescribed? i asked her what are you talking about/ i should her all three of my bottles.she said someone had called in and regusted refills on them. i told her it was not me. i still have medicine. she said my suppervisor will love this. also said see we are taught not to belive any of our patients...hold up i didnt call maybe someone used my name but i reallt dont know what happened.are docters alowwed to refuse you treatment? are treat you like an addict? please help this was the only docter i could go to..and im sure this is not right

I believe you. I'm not so sure I believe your doctor.

Too possibilities. As you said, someone is using your name (identity theft). The next possibility I hope isn't true in your case, but it happened in our area. A doctor who I went to and who performed surgery on me, a few years later was sentenced in court for writing "additional" prescriptions for others and using them as a means to supply his own drug habit. I don't know the details, however, I hope you get the drift.

I hesitate to say this, but being we are dealing with narcotics, there may be a point where you will need to seek the advice of an attorney. I would highly recommend that you keep every piece of paper and bottle of the prescriptions that you personnally had filled. Perhaps get a record from your pharmacy. You would have had to sign something at the pharmacy because you were getting a narcotic medicine. Make sure your signitures that you see are in fact YOURS.

Something just doesn't "smell" right.
