Q: Headaches during orgasm and throughout day - ideas?

for the past three weeks I have been getting dizzy spells accompanied by nausea then I get really exhausted. Then about a week ago I was having sex with my boyfriend and just as I was reaching climax my head hurt so bad that I would describe it as a blinding pain. I saw read and I couldn't talk I just sobbed for about five minutes and then the pain continued for hours after. I thought it was just a one time thing but I have been unable to orgasm now without the pain for an entire week. I know it is really personal but I am unaware of what is happening. I have now also been getting really bad headaches throughout the day which leave me exhausted as well. I have never been prone to headaches before and the relief from excederin migraine only lessens the pain...I still feel the pressure and pain. anyone have any ideas? I just signed up for health insurance so I was just biding my time until I can go see a physican.

Dizzy spells and headache before climax could have to do with your blood circulation. I would see a doctor especially if you never got many headaches before.

I definitely think you need to see a doctor as soon as you can. I have no idea what it could be but it sounds urgent.

I, too, think you should see a doctor as soon as it is possible for you to do so.

Please tell me what happened!
kmoyer, what did your doctor tell you? I am having very similar symptoms and don't have health insurance right now (it won't kick in for a couple weeks). I would love to hear back from you! This is one of the worst pains I have ever felt in my life!

I also have had a headache during sex and my doctor sent me to the E.R where they did a spinal tap and cat scan(both Neg.) so now I have an MRI scheduled. This origanilly started with sex but now I get a head ache every day. Only the back of my head and neck hurt and yes It's the worst pain I have ever felt.Last night my ear was bleeding also I don't know If this has anything to do with it but I was just lying down when It happened.

I am a 23 y/o male with similar symptoms, I went to the ER where they did a lumbar puncture a.k.a Spinal tap to see if i had any hemorrhaging in the brain. it came back negative as well as a C.A.T scan. its been very frustrating to know that this problem was not getting resolved.

Ok now for the fun part. By the time i got to the E.R my "thunderclap" headache already subsided. so the CAT scan didn't show anything at all.. i mentioned this to the doctor and he came up with an idea. my girlfriend went with me to the E.R so he mentioned well "i will leave you guys alone for about 10 min" (so we could have sex in the hospital room) sure enough that extreme "thunderclap" head ache came back and I had another CAT scan. when the results came back it showed that i had a enlarged blood vessel in my brain! He said this was very interesting and referred me to a neurologist. which is where im going tomorrow.
