Well, October 18, i moved to a new house. Up until about the 2nd week of November, i had nightmares basically every night. Since about the middle of November, they have been occurring a lot less. In the past 3 weeks, i have developed this almost amazing ability to stay awake for long periods of time. Im talking 30-50 hours, and still being able to function properly.
An example of my past week and a bit sleep schedules would be Wednesday, November 28, i woke up at approx. 10am. I stayed up until Friday morning until about 3:00pm. I then slept from 3pm to 8:30pm. I went out Friday over to a friends, and played some video games, hung out, had some drinks. Came home, and stayed awake all night. Saturday came, and i was awake all day long. I ended up going to the bar that night, around 11pm, got back to my friends place about 3am. Stayed up with her until about 5, then she ended up falling asleep. I was laying down, trying to sleep, and even kind of drunk, i just couldn't fall asleep. I ended up staying up, laying in the bed for about 4 hours. I ended up getting up and going to pick up some breakfast for her and myself. When i got home, i just carried on with my entire day. I ended up falling asleep Monday morning at about 5am, and waking up around 1pm Monday afternoon. From that Monday, i stayed up until Tuesday night, around 1130pm, fell asleep and woke up around 7am in the morning. From 7am wednesday, i stayed up until yesterday (Thursday) til about 10am, slept til around 130pm in the afternoon. Now i am here now, still awake since 1:30pm yesterday, not feeling the least bit tired. So basically in the past 9 days ive had ~21-22hours of sleep.
Now, while i think of all this, i also think about my eating and other habits. I have recently in the past month started an eating diet and workout plan. Basically i am consuming about 3500 calories a day, consisting of about 180g protein, 200g carbs, 140g fibre, and all the basic nutrients i need. I also consume about 1.5-2L a day of water. I have basically cut out my caffeine intake, maybe 1 coffee a week, and maybe 1 pop every other day.
Now im not sure if the above would affect my sleep. I honestly thought after working out and everyhting i should be a lot more tired. I know that i do eat way more and get hungry a lot more, but i do know its not what keeps me awake. When i try to sleep, i have always fell asleep to tv or a movie. I have been doing that, and have also been trying to get rid of my distractions, but i just cant fall asleep. I get the feelign of why should i sleep when i can be doing other things. I am starting my final exams this upcoming week and i am worried its going to affect my marks. I am not even sure what to make up of all this. Anyone give me any insight on whats wrong with me???
I am 19 years old, in college, don't do any drugs and do not smoke. I drink alcohol maybe 1-2 times a week (on weekends generally). I keep active, working out and playing hockey.
