steroids with infectious mononucleosis Posted: 12-07-07 08:53am
Could someone explain why while having
MNI(infectious mononucleosis) it is not
recommended to take steroid
anti-inflammatory like
cortisone(Solupred). What could be the
effect?
I took solupred 20mg (2x in the morning
and 1 in the afternoon) because the doctor
didn't realise that I have MNI. I took it
for 3 day(since 06 october) and the next
morning(like 60mg * 3 + 40 mg) when I
stopped since no effect.
I knew that my MNI was in convalescence on
14 nov
Now I'm feeling some pain in the abdomen
like a mild burn and another one on the
right side.
The exam I had where about 1 month after
taking Solupred and the liver was ok:
Transaminases SGOT 21
Transaminases SGPT 18
Gamma glutamyl Transpeptidase 20
Another problem is what is the probability
of getting Hodgkin's Disease since I'v
heard that is more commun in people after
having MNI. Is it possible that using
Steroid anti-inflammatory like Solupred
20mg in high doses to have more chances of
getting Hodgkin's Disease?
I'm am really worried.
Thx

Info about Solupred 20mg medicine to treat sarcoidosis Posted: 06-18-08 13:18pm
I will start taking Solupred 20 mg in
dosage of 1 tablet 3 times/day
in order to treat my sarcoidosis. However
before taking it I need to know
the correct dosage to be taken, side
effects, precautions etc....noting
that i have osteoporosis. Also I need to
know if along with Solupred
I should also take Methotrexate tablets (1
tablet twice a week)
