Hip Problem? Possibly Dislocation? Posted: 12-06-07 20:00pm
Hi everyone,
Today I was getting on my horse and my
left foot was planted on the mounting
block and right leg was swinging over.
Just as I mounted I felt a huge ammount of
pain in my left hip. At first I thought it
was just a cramp, and it would go away. I
rode the horse, but when I dismounted I
was very uncomfortable in my left side and
my left hip was very stiff.
It seemed ok though, but a few hours later
it was just horrible achey and stuff. I
couldnt sit on it, (now I can), but also
found it sore to stand on it.
My mom was telling me about this problem
she had as a teenager from mounting horses
where her hip used to dislocate itself.
Do you think it could be the same problem
here? If so, what causes the problem?
Thank you everyone,
Meg

Hi Meg,
I had a similar experience a few weeks
ago. I was ironing in my bedroom and the
iron fell off onto the carpet. I made a
sudden lurching motion from my left to the
right and it was unbelievable searing
pain. I saw stars. It was a really deep
pain. Never had that ever before.
I straightened up and took it easy for a
few days. Then back to work in my
vineyard and leaning over in that same
position, the same pain. I was thankful I
made it back up the hill to the house.
The thing about this is it is so painful
to actually sit for any period of time.
Sometimes it is on the outside of the left
hip and sometimes it is on the interior
where I feel a weakness there.
If you hear if this is hip displacement,
please let me know.
