Here are two stories I found a while back about miracle survivals:
miracle toddler survives beside dead mother for up to 10 days
a 22-month-old girl named miracle has survived for up to 10 days beside the decomposing remains of her pregnant mother.
Police in atlanta, georgia, found the toddler while responding to a report of a foul smell.
They discovered the youngster next to lawarna stevenson, 26, who had died from complications of diabetes and hypertension.
The little girl was malnourished, dehydrated and soiled although there was evidence she may have found food and some fizzy drinks in the pantry.
Mike alsip, a medical examiner's office investigator, said the degree of decomposition indicated her mother had been dead for at least five days.
However, police said unclaimed mail indicated she may have died as long as 10 days earlier.
Kenneth spencer, who lived above the family, said he last saw miracle on friday, looking at him from a window.
"that child was looking at me, probably asking for help," he said.

police in florida say a 2-year-old girl survived by eating mustard, ketchup, rice and raw pasta - after being left alone in an apartment for nearly three weeks while her mother was in jail.
Jacksonville police say the toddler was watching cartoons when she was eventually found by her father, who's separated from the girl's 22-year-old mother.
Police have charged the woman with child abuse. They say she didn't let anyone know that her daughter was alone in her apartment. She was jailed sept. 10 on unrelated charges.
The father says the girl's mother told him their daughter was with neighbors. He says when he came to the apartment, the toddler had dragged food and toys into her mother's bedroom and was lying in a baby's bathtub. He says she was covered with dried ketchup.
He calls it a "miracle" that his daughter survived. She's being treated at the hospital for malnutrition.
