I need help. Last March 2007 I began having chest pain, mostly pressure are burning sensations. Sometimes my throat felt full and I had difficulty swallowing. I saw my doctor who tried anxiety medicine, reflux meds. and ordered an EKG. A month later my symptoms were so severe I ended up in the ER. Blood tests revealed nothing, but my EKG was different from the first which landed me a Stress Treadmill test. In the meantime, my blood work revealed I had hypothyroidism and Hoshimoto's thyroiditis which was confirmed by an endocrinologist. I began Levothyroxin. Since then, I have had a few weeks here and there of feeling okay, but most days I still feel the pressure and burning as well as abdominal upset and diarrhea. The burning sensation often radiates down my left arm and up my chin and back. I have had an endoscopy and am scheduled for a colonoscopy as well. Today I saw a hemotologist because my white blooc count has been elevated. Today it was normal for the first time. However, the doctor felt that my wbc was most likely related to the Hoshimoto's. His guess was that I could be experiencing pericardidis? I've seen this talked about in relation to lupus. Is there any connection? I've also eliminated wheat, dairy, soy, and corn from my already vegetarian diet. I have expereienced some relief from doing this. I don't know what else to do and am so tired of feeling awful all of the time. I have two small children to keep up with and see grow. I need a resolution soon! Help anyone???!!!!!

Sounds like your on the right track. If you are still with the same doctor, I would stay and follow the direction he puts you on.

Did you know that if you have Hoshimoto's, you are more likely to have other auto-immune disorders?

I swear, I have lived what you are going through right now. My chest pain wasn't so bad as long as my Synthroid was right, but recently it is been getting worse along with a lot of other things. That's another story.

I guess my first question to you is have you tired the actual Synthroid name brand drug? I was on levothyroxin initially, and didn't get very good results. I switched to synthroid, and my life has been much better. My symptoms really improved after that.

Maybe that is an option... Good luck and Good Health!
