How soon after a miscarriage are you suppose to receieve your period?

That depends. Your body may still have hormones left over. It can take awhile to readjust. Anywhere from 4 - 8 weeks, I'd imagine.

I had a severe miscarriage october 18th... have not had a period since... this afternoon at work I started a little bit of brown discharge?

I'm sorry for your loss. I had a terrible miscarriage like that once as well.

Since you had a D&C and had the entire lining of your uterus removed, I would tend to think not bleeding for this long has been pretty normal.

Has the doctor ok'd you ttc again?

It can take even three months even with a regular birth, so if you were farther along, give it some time to come back.

I had a 2nd follow up appointment yesterday but the doctors werent there only nurses so I didnt ask... I want to talk to my doctor personally... I just got follow up paperwork on my 1st visit...

Yeah I think I may be on my period now but its definetly not normal...yesterday was brown discharge now its on agian off agian gooey blood... but VERRRYYYYYY light!

I think my body is just clensing

With the D&C, they scraped all the lining out of your uterus. What you would normally 'bleed' out every month. It is probably just taking a little bit to grow back. Don't worry, by next month, you'll be cursing your period all over again!

I don't know about the nurses in your doctor's office, but the nurse in MY doctor's office can be very knowledgable and very understanding. Whenever I have a question, I'd rather ask the nurse! She answers without asking 1,000 questions Smile

yeah I have talked to my doctor and my period is FINALLY back to normal.. it just freaked me out because it started as like a brown mucus (tmi) sorry
