Q: Applebees..

I've never been there & we plan on getting Shane's parents a gift certificate to go there for Christmas. For those of you who have gone there, what do you think a reasonable amount would be to put on a gift card for 2 adults? Shane said about $80, does that sound right?

I think $80 for applebees is a bit excessive. I don't think my husband and I have ever spent that much. We've maybe spent $60. We don't usually drink with dinner though. That can add money.

I thought $80 sounded like a bit much also! I was thinking more along the lines of $50-60, but then again I've never been to a restaurant like that so I don't know what things cost!

I usually give $50 - $60 gift certificates also. That is a good gift amount!

There drinks are slightly pricey, but they are pretty big, so they wont get as many.

I would say most of the plates are $10-13, and there desserts are about $5 but you have to get one....mmmm

So, I would agree that $50 would be plenty. We normally spend about $25 there. But we usually get a cheap dinner ($8ish)

Thanks ladies! I think I'll put $60 on it just to be safe, I'd rather put a little too much than not enough so they won't have to spend any of their own money. That way we can figure $30 each, I'm not sure if they'd want drinks or not.

Thanks again!

When Rob and I go there, We usually spend about $45. Thats with one appetizer to share, both our dinners, and a dessert to share. (neither of us have big appetites.)
If the kids eat with us its more obviously.

I went there last night!! I bought a pop and a meal and didn't even spend $10 on myself. When Bac and I both go we somtimes get an appetizer with our meals but it still never costs us more then $25!!! I can't believe you have never been there!

I know when my fiance and i go there (i don't drink) our meals, and he gets about 2 beers it's like 45-50 with tip. Yeah 80 seems to be quite a bit. That might let them eat there twice! lol

They have REALLY good steak, and the mashed tators are to die for! We don't get it often, but it's really good when we do.

oh man, you guys are missing out. we went there weekly back when we had money (once we went 3 times in a week). everything is awesome and i always have a hard time choosing what to get. my only complaint is they try new things and then take them off the menu after awhile and it's always something i love.
