I confidently predict that you will lose that weight really quickly eating that level of calories.

I also confidently predict that you will either pile on the weight once you start eating properly again or end up with an eating disorder.

Crash dieting doesn't work. Trust me Wink

i had a small bowl of cereal for breakfast and just kept myself busy during the day so i wouldn't snack. then a small (half portion) of the meal we had last night (carrots, roast potato, roast beef, peas and cauliflower)

I'm tring to lose weight as well! As soon as the doctor gives me the go ahead I'm gonna start running again! I can't even find clothes to fit right now. I'm kinda un-even. Smaller waste, BIGGER butt and thighs....which makes for finding pants to fit! size 12 fits my thighs and butt but is too big in the waste. I can't even pull a size 9 over my thighs! Before I fell preggo I weighed 113 by the time I delivered I weighed 147 and wore anywhere from a size 0 to a size 3. Now that i've delivered 3 weeks ago I back down to 134, but it seems as if only my belly has gotten smaller. My legs, butt, and back are still fat! Sad

BTW Becks - a stone is only 14lbs not 16 so you've got less to lose! Smile

After yesterdays appt. I too am on a diet. Yuck. Just in time for Christmas. I don't care what anyone says, I'm still going to have eggnog. lol.

Anyway, 900 is a little to few calories. Once you go under a certian amount your body goes into starvation mode and it actually hold onto the fat. I'm not sure what it is though I want to say 1100...

I've had a salad and water...how exciting.

I agree. 900 calories is TOO FEW! You should drop your calorie load down enough to lose 1-2 lbs a week with exercise.

Rachel, pilates is EXCELLENT. Running will burn calories, but you will need to build muscle also. You can lose inches with pilates/resistance training - like a size in 2 weeks kind of loss. Wink

Your body will hold weight the second you start to Re:eat again.

So if you went back to 'normal' eating, you would gain the weight and your body would hold it, making losing that same weight harder the next time because your body would then be conditioned to be in 'starvation' mode.

You will lose weight, as a previous poster said - but just as much as you lose it, you will gain it back and hold onto it. Slow, consistent weight loss needs to come from a well balanced diet and exercise together. You should be fueling your body every few hours with proteins and a small amount of calories. Never skipping meals.

Make breakfast or lunch your largest meal of the day - but don't skip any of them. You can eat yogurt or salad with some nuts for dinner and that would be ok. But don't let your body start to fear it is starving Wink

Bodies are fickle! They like food!

There are tons of books on nutrition, which is seriously all you need to know Wink As a general rule, a person shouldn't drop under 1200 calories while 'dieting'.

If you fill your diet with vegetables, fruits, whole grains and small amount of fish and fowl - and no sweets (that is the hard part!) - your body will naturally drop weight. You should never allow yourself to become famished - instead eat every 3-4 hours. But something like an apple or a bit of celery with a spoon of peanut butter for the protein.

My favorite is a cut up apple dipped in low fat sugar free vanilla yogurt. Smile

Don't fall for any eating plan that tells you to eat all protein and no carbs. That is rubbish! Your body needs carbs too. Just the right kind of carbs. Fresh veg is the way to go. Wink

Good luck. 'Dieting' is hard.

Yes. WW is a great plan. But you have to pay for it.

I think that would actually help me to stick with it better. I couldn't stand to think I was wasting money.
