Q: Viral Load Down to <50 Without Medication

I had been detected HIV on 2004. My max VL was 28000 on Aug06 and declining since then up to <50 on my last test Nov07 without any kind of medication or lifestyle change (CD4 always above 700).
Can I spect to continue with this undectectable result?
Can I infect other people?
Is there any explanation on why the VL became undectectable without medication? Is it common?
PS: My BF since 4 years had done ELISA test this week and got negative result.
Thank you in advance, Andre

You can pass it on so always be careful when having sex. I have been HIV for 7 years and my partner and I are always careful. Even if you both have HIV the virus is different in everyone and can change and multiply so take your meds as prescribed, exercise and get rest. If you take care of your self you should be OK. Good Luck. I have had friends that have been POS for over 20 years so just take good care of your self and dont share body fluids or needles.

I find that amazing. I had over 750,000 virus in the blood in 1998 and 80 fighter cells. I am now undetectable and the CD4 is at 300. The doctors think that because I was ill for a long time, my fighter cells may never get higher. Oh well.

Very happy for you and I would say what Homerx said.

Muthoni, sounds like you are doing well. Thats great. As long as you feel good then don't sweat the numbers. Thats what my doc says and I believe it. Don't play the numbers game cuz it may fluctuate. I actually have a friend who had ZERO T cells! Zip, nun,Nada one and he slowly but surely got better so even if you don't have any you can still recover as long as you follow your doctors orders. Smile respect

I have seen how much Homerx emphasizes on exercise and rest. Because of this, I have starting skipping rope a hundred times each morning and I rest for an hour most of the afternoons. Thanks Homerx for motivating me respect

I knew exercise was important and so I was initially jogging and then I started walking. Walking is not enough and I needed to do something else thus the skipping which I had ignored for a while. I am trying to take care of myself mbae fighting boredom. An idle mind is the devil's workshop. I have an hours set aside for things that I had ignored like collage, colouring, reading, crochet. I dedicate time for these everyday. I have time set aside for the computer instead of being on the computer all day. This is a great change for me. I was bored but not anymore.

Now is time to do house keeping. I'll get that done and then I will go for a walk, have lunch and get ready for work. Working with a timetable of all the activities I do in a week is working sucessfully.

There is no giving up! yes

The ripples
Homerx,

I had too many things to worry about including HIV that I had no time to take care of myself. I have always done the best I could. Recently, I am taking it in more. The taking care. That is how I was able to recognize what you are talking about and also note its importance. Having Bi polar as well has taught me to keep my mind clear. If I am not clear, I can work myself into a panic attack. Therefore I pray instead of worry.

Your writing above that, "...if you take care of yourself you should be OK..." spoke volumes to me. And I changed right away mbae doing something about it. I made a timetable for activities of the week. I put down a list of activities that I would like to do. Skipping rope, writing/computer, reading, crochet, colouring, walking/praying, listening to music, listening to the radio/video on line, work, collage, laundry, housekeeping and washing dishes. Now I am not bored anymore. It rippled from you to mwa. I am back to doing things I had neglected that are good for me emotionally, spiritually, mentally and physically.

Thanks for your influence.

Muthoni,
You will never know how much that means to me. We now have each other to lean on also, right? There will be hard times and challenges ahead, as there are for anyone whether they have HIV or not, but as long as we talk to God and to each other and breath and take care then we will be OK. I am so happy to hear you are feeling better about life! yes
Everyone has there own cross to bear and you and I can walk together for we have the same reality to deal with...you will be in my thoughts and prayers and talk to me anytime...I have a good feeling that every thing is going to get better and better for you and for me.
Much love and respect
luvcomp yes

vrply <50 viral load
best to check with your dr. every three months to have your counts monitored. i've been hiv since 1984. went 11 years before any medications were even available. if your viral load stays low and your t cell count stays high you should be okay. i think a lot of if depends on what strain of the virus you have. good luck.

HIV Viral Load No Medications...
So here it goes... I do not know if anyone will reply, but in October, it took them 6 tests to get a positive all of them were inconclusive. Once they got the positive they took my blood for a viral load and cd4 count. At that point my viral load was 3400 and my cd4 count 750. And yes, the viral load was that low. I was told to expect in the 100k's before I got the results. And I never got sick. And today, I am still not on any medications, and my viral load is 1400. and cd4 is still 750. From all the blood tests on this stuff it continues to decrease.
I asked the doctors what that means, and they told me it could be either acute hiv, but they don't see a viral load that low usually ever, or I could have something different with my DNA, Enzymes, proteins or something else in my body. I have not been able to find an answer online or any explanation of this. And my insurance won't cover tests about my dna, enzymes, or proteins that could shed some light onto this.
Ever since I was very young doctors left and right told me that my immune system was unusually strong and that my body is different. I have even beaten cancer.

This has been my closest thing I could find for some information since starting to look in October.
