Just out of curiosity, what age would you consider a teen parent? Up to the age of 21? Or 18? etc?

I'm 19 and I still consider myself a teen mom.
I guess it's all based on where you live and the different age categories.Where I live now 18 is considered legal adult, but where I used to live 19 is considered a legal adult.I think the US is 21 and I'm not sure about other countries.
So I guess in some places I would still be considered a teen mom but in my town I am not a teen mother anymore(even though I still consider myself one).

teen mum to me means from the day you turn 13 til the day before your 20, although 18 isn't really deemed bad here

you see i thought it was until you were 20 but i don't see myself as a teen mum anymore being 18, but still a young mum of course.

I would class myself as a young mum but i know others would class me as a teen mum which i am so i'm not going to argue that. The only reason i said what i said was that technicaly you are a teenager until you're 20

I'm 18 and I wouldn't consider myself a teen Mom.. or teen Mom to be. I'd consider a teen Mom a 13-16 year old. Or if the person hasn't graduated high school. I just don't think that the majority of teens that age have the maturity or the means to care for a child. However everyone is diffrent and I wouldn't judge someone soley based on there age. It's just unfortunate to see so many teens thinking having a baby is all fun and games and not realizing the huge responsibilty that a child brings. I'd consider myself a young Mom but not a teen Mom.

I will be 19 when I have my little one but I will turn 20 about two months later. I will consider myself a teen mom til i turn 20. Since I will still be nineTEEN.

Was this second pregnancy planned? Are you and the father of your baby and the future baby thinking of getting married?

Re:future Shock
I am not sure if you were writing to me but I have been married since I was 15, when I found out I was pregnant. This was my choice not on my Parents demand. I thought it was the Christian thing to do. I got saved when I was 16, stopped hanging and the wrong peers that I was hanging around and turned my life around and started living for God. I am happily Married and yes this pregnancy was planned. I along with my Husband feel we are finacially, emotinally, phscially ready. I know most people think that TEEN PREGNANCY is horrible but I think of it as a way of growing up, when there are those girls that just need a newsflash, a wakeup call!

I just did a scan on google of different studies, etc., and the best estimate I can give is teen mother = age 10 to and including 19. The risks and negative outcomes seem to dissipate at the over 20 age range.
