Q: Pregnant???

If I last had sex on September 23 and had a transvaginal ultrasound on November 17 and didn't tell the doc or tech that I could be pregnant, would they have found at least a gestational sac without looking for it? I would have been almost 8 weeks at the time of the ultrasound, and I also had a blood test come out negative the day before the US. I'm on the pill and haven't missed a period, but I'm not sure if you would miss a period while pregnant on the pill. The doc ordered the test because I was afraid I was 3 months pregnant and the preg tests weren't picking it up! (CRAZY I know!) But now, I'm getting paranoid again! The tech did show me where a baby would be if I were pregnant, and there was nothing there that I saw and she also said the lining of my uterus was thin and she could tell I had just had a period. I didn't tell the doc because I was worried about the earlier incident thinking I was pregnant from earlier on and the guy was only in me for a 30 seconds and then we quit and he didn't ejaculate inside me. I know this is crazy, but I would like some answers to ease my mind!

Transvaginally we are able to see a gestational sac at 5 weeks and a heart beat at as early as 5 and a half weeks.
Thin uterine lining, and a negative blood test=no pregnancy.
Stop being so paranoid.

Sarah, maybe you could find a doctor who will accept payments.

Take your prenantal vitamins and try to get in to be seen as soon as possible. When is your insurance coming through?

Agencies
hi,
there are agencies and places that can get you in contact with prolife and other doctors that can do everything including the pregnancy for free. I'm glad you chose to keep that baby!!!
Congratulations,
let me know if you need the numbers

Don't worry about your baby. Unless you have an ultrasound, the doctor won't be able to pick up a heartbeat on dopplar until about 12 weeks. Not having a checkup isn't going to make him ill. Some women go well over 20 weeks before they've seen a doctor.

There are health plans for women including medicaid if you do not qualify for insurance. Most doctors will work out a plan for you themselves as will most hospitals if you do not have insurance.

The best thing is to not worry and make appointments as soon as you can for your health and the baby's, and worry about how to pay for it later.

It is possible that they could missed the fact that you are pregnant. Even skilled radiologists make the mistake of seeing a boy in-utero when it is really a girl.

It is probable that you are not pregnant considering all the tests. Just a word of caution though: even if the guy was only in you for 30 seconds and did not ejaculate, some sperm is almost always contained in a pre-ejaculatory fluid, and it is possible to become pregnant when in contact with it, no matter how short your "dry hump" was.
