Lactating?
Posted: 12-04-07 01:34am

I was taking a shower and when I get out, I usually just run around naked for awhile. I was kinda being bored and started playing with my nipples. I ended up squeezing one, and a clear liquid dripped out. It turns out that both do it, and the more I do it, the more that comes out.

I was wondering if it's my colostrum, and if so, why is it clear? I always thought it would start white and stay white.

This is my first pregnancy and I'm 21wks along, since everyone always asks Razz

It is your colostrum, & it's normal to be clear up until a few days after you have your baby- then, it may turn into a creamy white. If your colostrum begins leaking without you applying pressure to your nipple(s), you may consider wearing breast pads... much more comfortable than wet bras!! Very

Yep, it's colostrum. Mine started leaking around 18 weeks. It was clear at first. Now, it's sometimes clearish, sometimes clearish white, sometimes yellowish and sometimes milky looking. For me, I leak a bit more easily at the end (I'm about 39 weeks now), but still not enough to warrant breast pads. Mostly I leak in the shower and at night while I'm asleep.
