I've been taking ortho tri cyclen lo forever to regulate my flo and have never had any problems. Ever since I had children and been back on the same pill I notice a pattern. The week b/f my period I'm REALLY irritable! I cry over the stupidest things, am very sensitive and give people a real health forum attitude. I'm a nice lovable person the rest of the time but man don't mess with me the week b/f my period. DON'T LOOK AT ME, DON'T TALK TO ME AND DON'T TOUCH ME when it's that week and don't expect me, you or us to go anywhere or do anything. I'm just a miserable and but can be grateful that it's only the 1 week as oppose to the whole month like other forums I've read. It's even actually only like 3-4 days that I'm like that. My husband even checks my pack for a heads up. I'm sure we can just go on living like that but feel like it's not right. Does anyone have any advise? I've recently talked to my dr. and asked him to switch me to YAZ (different than yasmin) but not so sure it was the right move. PLEASE HELP thanks

Different pills effect people in different ways. I know I get more emotional on my third week of pills as well, but not to the same extent you do.

If it really bothers you, you should switch pills. Switching to Yaz is a good start. Sometimes you just have to look around until you find a pill that suits you best. If all else fails and you feel feeling this way, maybe you can switch to a nonhormonal birth control method (IUD, condoms, etc)
