Back pain symptoms may seem obvious. But do you know when symptoms of back pain are more serious or when to see a doctor? Learn what action to take & when...
My neurologist has decided he would manage my pain for me. I have two herniated buldging disc's in my lumber area. I started out on Vicodin ES and the decided I wanted to keep my liver a little longer so asked to be changed to something without tylenol in it. He gave me a script for 90 Oxycodone to take three times a day (1mg). It is not helping the pain at all. I have to take two for it even to hit the tip of the iceburg. Now, hee is someone that hates pain pills and now has no choice whether to take them or not anymore. Like today, the pain was just nagging away at me. I am allergic to that goo on the back of the eletrodes to my TENS unit and am waiting to order some cloth type from an on line medical supply company.
I was just wondering if there is anyone here that is on anything that they have had good luck with where they did not have to take more then one to ease the pain.
I would really appreciate any replies.

At witts end,
Carrie

Ms Carrie;

Have you tried acupuncture for this? It really can help, and it's drug free!

Actually no not for this. I am not sure if my state medicaid would pay for it or not. They are very fussy down here. They have eliminated so many drugs on thier perferred durg list it's not funny. I wanted to try Cymbalta, but they don't cover it. Like fighting teeth and nail for meds. I'm just greatful for my Klonopin and Lexepro right now. Thanks much for the tip though. I wish I could afford it.

I am on Medicaid in Alabama and they would not cover the Cymbalta for me either! I cant find a Pain Management doctor that takes Medicaid in the whole damn state!! I DID have my Paxil and Xanax, but Medicaids last choice for a doctor deemed my meds "unnecessary". Can they just do that?
