Second Thoughts

Almost right after we got out of the
hospital and I filled ojut the
registration forms for Rowan there I had
second thoughts about what I named her.
It's not her first name, I love Rowan and
I think she's definitely a Rowan, it's her
middle name. I was really into a name
before I had her but what other people had
to say about it discouraged me, and since
then I've been wishing I'd have just went
with it. The thing is, I'm just getting
around to applying for her birth
certificate now (woops, I know...) because
she just ran out of coverage under my
Manitoba health card, and now I need to
apply for an Ontario one for her so I need
her birth certificate and other forms.
I'm wondering, since I haven't even
applied for a birth certificate yet, can't
I just change her name when I'm filling
out the aplication, I mean, isn't she
technically not named yet? Or do I need
to put exactly what I registered her as at
the hospital down?
Or should I just leave it how it is? I
mean, I stopped liking the middle name I
went with so soon, but have been into the
name I should have gone with for a long
time now. It's just the best combination!

What's the name?
So, she doesn't have a birth certificate?
Really? I didn't know you could do that.
Don't her doctors need proof of who she
is?
I'm just curious, obviously, I have no
experience in that feild.
Do they have a 1-800 number you could call
and ask?

i'd call the, and im not sure what it is
there, but here its the social security
office, whoever is in charge of birth
certificates, and ask them. OR call the
hospital.
here they make u apply for the BC in
hospital before u discharge.

I guess things are a lot different in
Canada than in the States. The hospital
applied for Cheyenne's birth certificate
and social security number before we were
even discharged. About 2 weeks after
coming home, we got a 'keepsake' birth
certificate from the hospital. We have to
go to the court house to get a legal copy
though. I'm just surprised that the
hospital didn't already do this; I mean a
birth certificate is a record of birth. I
have no clue on an anwser to your question
though....sorry.

What is her middle name? I don't
particularly like Layla's middle name
(Jane) because it's so common but I
thought it went so well with her first
name so I just went for it. To me a middle
name isn't really that important.
Layla never gets called by her middle name
(unless she has been naughty then it's her
full name :lol)

I wish the hospital did it for me, infact,
I was under the impression that they do,
because they made me fill in a
registration form for her, then later I
was told I have to go get an application
and fill it in to get one.
Her name is Rowan Sophia.

I think her name is lovely but it is
entirely up to you.
Lol Sandra- at first i'm like- 'Layla?
Layla?! LAYLA JANE ROWDEN!' Then she
listens. She has even started saying LOGAN
KYLE ROWDEN! At Logan when he's naughty

Jessa? sounds like a nick name for jessica
or something. Sophia is lovely.
Just call and see what they say. In the uk
we have 42 days to register a birth. I
just found this about changing the name:
-I registered my baby's birth, but I don't
like the name I gave her. Can I change it?
-You have up to a year from the day you
registered to change, add or amend given
names - but you cannot change the surname.
Might be like that over there too.
