Q: Really Worried!!

I have no clue were to put this. I dont know if anyone will be able to help me or not.

About 2 months ago Amelia picked up on what we was trying to teach her. We would bow our heads down and look up with our eyes. She started doing this shortly after we kept doing it to her. I dont know if this has something to do with it or not. But now she has like this uncontrolable spasms where she bows her head and it jerks back in forth and sometimes side to side. You can tell shes not doing this on purpose. And sometimes she will bow her head(while shes sitting on her but) and fall forward and hit her head. This happens out of the blue. She has done these spasms twice within the last 12 minutes! She would just be sitting there playing or "talking" and boom it happens. Joey says its her new thing. I also thought that at the beginning then my mom seen her do it the other day and she says I need to take her to the doctor. I shruged it off and told my mom shes just learning new things. But now i think Im wrong. Im really starting to get worried because past few days it seems like it gets worse. I keep trying to call her doctor and the phone is busy! Crying or Very sad

Has anyones kds ever had uncontrolable head spasms??

Sorry hun, I don't really have any answers. I do think you need to get her to a doctor. Let us know what they say when you get through.

yeah i would take her to a neurologist. Things like that can be siezures that no one notices. Or it could just be a new thing she does..

best to get it checked tho. They'll run CT scans and MRI's to be sure.

Yeah, I agree with the other girls. Have her checked out. Better safe than sorry. Hope all is well and it's just her new thing.

It depends on your insurance.

Do you have a local medical hotline? They are usually nurses and might be able to give you some advice.

it really all depends on the neurologist.. call around see which ones take ur insurance, and ask if they require a refferal from her pediatrician before coming in. Usually u dont even have to have an appointment to get one, just go to her peds office and tell them u need one.. they'll more than likely give it to you on the spot, typically on a script paper.

oh ok! Thanks! The reason why I asked is because when Amelia had to go see her eye doctor it was a referal (sp?) and so was her GI specialist!

a lot of specialists require it, for insurance reasons.. Jacobs orthopedist did, as well as my eye doctor.. but the dentist didnt. Weird.

I'd definately get her checked tho.. Im sure shes fine, but if it *is* something, the earlier they catch it the better.

try calling your insurance provider.. tell them you cant get thru to your ped and ask if theres anything they can do.. be it write the referral for you, or maybe contact the neurologist and set something up with them.
