Q: tender breasts but not pregnant

i have been trying to get pregnant for 17 months with no success
doctor is just starting tests . but i have had tender breasts for two days quite sore to the touch i am due on a week tomorrow.
apart from being pregnant as i dnt feel i am as ive been trying so long (i have a daughter whos 6) what could cause this tenderness in my breasts
