I am 18 and have always had a regular period... Two months ago i went to the gyno for a check up and everything was normal i started taking Trinessa that month everything was GREAT... the first and second day of my second pack i was throwing up so i skipped day 3 and 4 and have never really caught up i am still taking the birth control im just 2 days behind...i started my normal period on November 13 and then two weeks later on the 30 i was lightly spotting the next day it was heavy just like a regular period and i am still having bleeding on December 2 .... i have had cramps headache and back pains and a lot more tired then usual....i am wondering if its from being behind on my birth control or am i pregnant because i am still having unprotected sex even though im behind and i know that makes it less effective
Has this happend to anyone else or does anyone have any clue about what could be going on? I have a gyno appointment for tuesday but im just curious

What do you mean you started your normal period on the 13th? Was that during the placebo week? Was the 30th the placebo week? Are you on the placebo week now? The placebo week is when your "period" is supposed to happen.

As far as your body is concerned, once you had taken birth control for one full week, you were not "behind". Whenever the placebo week comes along, take them for seven days and then start a new pack, no matter what day of the week it is, or even if you're still bleeding.

Bleeding, especially if it's heavy like a normal period, means YOU ARE NOT PREGNANT. Where in the world would the embryo be!? You're bleeding it's whole world out through your vagina Razz

That said, the only way you would be pregnant is if you had unprotected sex the week before you started, the first two days you started, the two days you missed, or 7 days after you started taking them again. Why? You need to take birth control pills correctly for one full week to be protected.
