Q: Pool Activity ok after lower back surgery?

It is safe to go in the pool at the YMCA and walk 15 days post op from a lower back surgery? My instructions were no bending, lifting, twisting for 6-8 weeks but nothing about going into the pool with my shirt on waist high more specifically.

i rekon you should not go into a pool until your incision has completely healed or a bug may get into your wound even if you don't immerse yourself in the water or you have a shirt on

As far as I know a new surgical incsion is to be left clean and dry for however long the dcotor says. I agree with rolla64. Untill that is completely healed and closed you are only looking for more trouble.
