Q: Wisdom Tooth Extraction, Leave the Root In???

I got my left bottom wisdom tooth removed and my dentist told me he didn't remove the tooth root because my nerve and bone are so close to the root. Is it a normal procedure to extract the wisdom teeth?

Now, months later, I got serious infection from that area. Is that because the root is still there?

Please help. Thx...

Wisdom Tooth Root
H!There are times when it is better to leave a root tip in if trying to remove it will cause nerve or bone damage.Did you see a dentist or an oral surgeon for your extractions??If you did not see a specialist(oral surgeon)that is who you should see to treat this problem.Good luck!!
