went to the doctor because I thought I
could be pregnant despite having all my
periods for 3 months,(I'm on birth control
and didn't know if it was possible to
still have a withdrawal period if you got
pregnant on it or not.) and negative blood
and urine tests. I just felt weird and
thought that I was prego! I know it sounds
crazy, but I'm overly paranoid. So, she
sent me for a transvaginal ultrasound and
had the tech give me a little anatomy
lesson. She showed me my ovaries, the
lining of my uterus and even where a baby
would be if I were pregnant. So, I felt
better when my doc told me that there was
no baby there and put me on birth control.
Well, now I'm being overly paranoid again
(nothing unusual!) because I didn't tell
her that me and my ex (we were still
dating at the time) were messing around
and he wanted to have sex but I didn't,
but he stuck his penis in me anyway and I
pushed him off! The doc sent me for a
blood test the day before the ultrasound
and it was negative, and I would have been
8 weeks from the incident in which a
pregnancy would have happened. My question
is, could they have missed a baby at 8
weeks pregnant on ultrasound. Wouldn't the
tech have at least seen a gestational sac?
I know the chances are slim, but please
help me ease my mind! I've had all of my
periods also, they've just been lighter.
Any help would be appreciated!

You are not pregnant, don't worry anymore.
You would have a positive pregnancy test,
your periods would most likely stop, and
something would show up on ultrasound. Not
to mention you were on BC right? That
alone is enough to protect you from
pregnancy. It is around 99.8 percent
effective. Not to mention if this
scoundral of an ex of yours was only in
you briefly and did not ejaculate your
chances are even less. Don't worry about
pregnancy worry about keeping this loser
out of your life so that he doesn't do
that to you again.

No, I had an ultrasound at 8 weeks and it
was obvious a baby was in there.

At 8 weeks after the incident (which would
have been more like 10 weeks pregnant if
you were pregnant because of the way
pregnancy is calculated; you're considered
4 weeks pregnant by the time your period
is late even though you've actually only
been pregnant for 2 of those 4 weeks), it
would definitely be obvious on ultrasound
(they can detect the heartbeat by
ultrasound at 6-7 weeks pregnant), not to
mention, it would show on a preg. test and
a blood test and you were on birth control
and he didn't ejaculate inside you.
You're not pregnant.

Thank you guys! The info you provided was
helpful! And cln1812 I never looked at it
like I would have been 10 weeks at the
time of my ultrasound. I feel much
better!!! Thanks!

I agree with everyone.
Also, don't worry about your bleeding
being lighter. Birth control has a side
effect of lighter, shorter periods, so
that is completely normal.
