These last few days I've been taking extra painkillers because of exceptionally large amounts of pain. Well, it looks like I'm paying the price now. This is the 5th day I have't had a bowel movement, and the scary thing is I don't even have to go! I have been eating plenty so...

I know one guaranteed cure that I've tried a few times is a 1/2 cup of olive oil with a 1/2 cup of organge jiuce (albeit you'll get 4-5 oily shits after the first needed one), but I tried it today and gagged as soon as it hit my mouth; so that option's out.
I ate many appricots and prunes today, then took some senacot, but all that's done is make it so I can feel a bit of intestinal movement now. Nothing has reached the end yet.

I've asked doctors about this before and all they ever say is "eat lots of fiber".

Anything else I could try eating? Also what consequences to my health could come of this?

Any time I have had to take narcotic pain killers for any length of time my doctor has always told me to get Colace and take it regularly as long as I am taking the pain killer. Generic or store brands are quite cheap. It works great for me.

Yep this is what you need to do whenever you are taking narcotics. Take a pill for a pill....lol

even a stool softener will help.....but this is normal w/pain killers

I just got out of the hospital myself. I too am on painkillers. Try milk of magnesia, like Philips. You can get it over the counter at the drug store. Good luck!

You laugh! : Very Happy But sometimes a person ends up taking more pills for the side effects of pills than the number of prescriptions they need! In the hospital after my liver transplant I was taking 24 pills a day. Only 8 of those were primary prescriptions! The rest were for side effects of prescriptions! LOL!
