Pillow In Crib?

finn is 13 months and i'm still paranoid
about putting stuff in his crib with him
while he's sleeping. he loves laying on
pillows on the floor though so i think
he'd like a pillow in his crib. plus,
we're hoping to move him to toddler bed in
march or april, so he'd have bedding then
(and i'm even more paranoid about the
blanket he'll be getting).
so when did you give your babies pillows?

I waited until Nate was around 2 1/2 years
old but that's just me.

i don't think i'd get any sleep if i gave
him one anytime soon. i guess he doesn't
really need bedding for his toddler bed
(though it would look cute!).
one night his room was freezing when i
went in to check on him, so i covered him
with a blanket. i swear i tossed and
turned the rest of the night and went in
to check on him like 10 times.

No kidding. I was like that, too. Even
with thick PJ's and the temp turned up,
nate seemed to be cold. I know I will be
like that with Brian. His room is so darn
cold compared to the rest of the house.

Brayden doesn't use a pillow yet but he
uses a blanket, always has. We haven't
had any problems and he loves it, it helps
him go to sleep because he just sits and
plays with it (its real soft!) He also has
a teddy bear thats always in his crib and
we just recently put his bumpers back
on..no problems. Since Finn is quite a
bit older then Brayden I bet he would be
fine... but do what makes you feel most
comfortable

Jaylon uses a blanket too. He rubs the
silky part and it helps him sleep. He
also has bumpers in there because I
couldn't stand hearing him bump his head
on the sides. I have them tucked into the
mattress so there is only a little bit
showing, but it helps.
I guess you could try him with a pillow at
naptime to see how he does with it?

The triplets had pillows in their crib...
they weren't real young or anything, but I
think they were his age? & they always
had their "blankies" for as long as I
could remember. hmm.

My two have a pillow. Logan has had one
since he was a year old. I gave him it one
night when he was really congestd and i
felt propping him up would help him
breathe easier. I constantly checked him
for a few weeks then realised he was fine

eadie's only four months old so she
doesn't have a pillow but she has like, 3
blankets at night because it's so cold
where we live. we keep the heat up but i
don't want her getting a chill from a
draft or anything. we would have to have
it cranked 24-7 to avoid that. i give her
a few blankets so i can remove one or two
or whatever. but her crib is right beside
my bed so i guess it's safe. i sometimes
pull it even closer at night so i can
reach out and touch her hand. i guess
when she starts moving more i'll have to
really watch her and see how she does.
i'm sure finn would be okay with a pillow.
he can move now, so it's not like he
would turn over and get stuck like that,
like an infant would. plus, he's over a
year old.

Kaylee doesn't have a pillow yet although
I've been thinking about putting one in
her crib because when she's playing on the
floor she'll lay on pillows & play
with her toys. She's always her her
"blankie", she won't sleep without it. She
rubs it on her face & between her
fingers to help her fall asleep. I think
Finn would be fine with a pillow!

I think that by the time March or April
come around he will be fine with a pillow
and a little blanket. He will be old
enough to realize if something is covering
his face.....therefore he would move or
turn his head. Obviously you have to do
what you feel comfortable with...but I
think that he will be fine.
Plus once the baby is here you will be
getting up anyways throughout the night so
you will be able to check on him

Rowan sleeps with me sometimes (all the
time at first), so she's been around
pillows and blankets for a long time now.
I knew she was ready for her own because
she would lift the blankets on my bed and
put them over herself, and pull and tug my
pillow from under my head and lay and try
to get herself comfortable on it. Finn
isn't an imobile little baby anymore, so I
think he'd be able to handle some bedding.
A little baby might not have enough body
control the manipulate bedding if it was
causing them discomfort or if it was on
their faces, but a baby Finn's age would
be. If you do get him a pillow just get
him a small one that doesn't have a pillow
case.

pitched a fit one night til we figured out
thats what he wanted and then he was so
happy.

we gave Reese a pillow a month ago cause
he was really congested, and it solved his
sleeping problem he was starting to get,
for like 2 months he was waking up in the
night countless times! as soon as he had a
pillow, slept ALL night long

I know that anything under 12 months is a
no no. When i was a baby and wanted a
pillow (i used to steal my sisters) my mum
folded up a blanket at first to check that
i was ok with it and then gradualy used
thicker blankets and then finally a pillow

Oni's had a pillow since she was about 3
months old. She would throw up if I didn't
put SOMETHING to prop her up.
She slept on her belly so we got a really
thin pillow.
She STILL has a pillow. And blankets. But
she's been in the toddler bed for about 5
months now.
I don't see a problem with pillows.

Dash (who I nanny for) has a pillow. He's
22 months, but has had one ever since he
turned 1. A thin one without a case
should be perfect, because he wouldn't
really have a way of getting caught up in
it.

Nanni uses blankies, but not a pillow. I
gues I will get her one when we move her
to her toddler bed at Christmas time. I
am SO not ready for her to be out of her
crib yet! Look out world!

Christian has been sleeping with a big
pillow since he was little . It's only
because he has pneumonia and his dr.
recommended that he be elevated . At 13
months its more than ok he is able to move
easily if he can't breathe or is
uncomfortable.
