Q: My Butt Hurts...

I thought that would get your attention Wink

I have this pain. It's at like the top center of my left butt check. My god it hurts. It feels like there is a joint that needs to pop and I just can't do it!!

Has anyone experienced this? If so, do you have any suggestions?

I've already tried lidocain patches and they didn't work.

Laughing That would be the talk of the Christmas party!!

Sciatica....you know, it does kinda sound like it. But I've never had a problem with it before, and I haven't done anything different. Can it just start out of nowhere?

To me it sounds like you have a sacral torsion. Your pelvis is in two symmetrical halves, in several "pieces" so to speak. Sometimes a wrong move, stepping off a curb, and even lifting something funny can cause part of one side of the pelvis to slip forward and get stuck on top of your acetabulum way down low. the best thing to do for this is to find an osteopathic physician who does manipulation therapy using muscel energy techniques. Basically, they will use your own muscles to pull the pelvis back into alignment. another optioin is to find a chiropracter of physical therapist who can do these techniques. In the mean time, take Ibuprophen to decrease inflammation, and tylenol if it's painful. Ice it to reduce inflammation and any swelling. This will also prevent spasm. The sooner you get this taken care of the easiere it will be and the more likely it can be resolved in one or two treatments. The longer we wait for these, the more our bodies settle into this position, and it takes more treatments and somethimes PT to work them out. It could be something else, but this seems most likely. Sciatica can be a symptom of this as well. I hope this helps.

It's just getting worse. Sad This sucks. I hope it doesn't last long. I've already had to take tylenol 3...I don't want to take anything stronger.

I have to agree; it sounds like either sciatica or sacroileac (SI) pain. I had terrible SI pain and ended up needing to see an orthopedic physical therapist to realign everything. The good news is it helped after 3 visits to her. If the pain keeps up, definitely, you may need to see a chiropractor or orthopedic physical therapist to get everything back into alignment.

Is the pain worse doing certain activities? For example, my pain was the worst (shooting pains that made me want to cry or scream) when walking, getting out of bed, rolling over, standing up from sitting, etc., etc. Or is it constant?

I hope you feel better soon. ((((HUGS))))

If it still hurts like this in the morning, I will call someone. Thanks for all the information!!

It is a constant pain. But it gets worse if I arch my back at all (like sitting up straight) and sitting in certain positions. But, it doesn't seem any worse when I walk.

If you were to lie on yout tummy and puch up with your arms would that increase the pain? IF so, then I would definitely think sacral dysfx.
