Hello all,

i'm a new user here and I have some questions which I hope all you nice ppl could help me out. I took a full blood test recently and the results reveal that my uric acid was high at 570 and the other 2 being sgot(ast) = 45 (limit 16-40) sgpt(alt) = 71(limit 8-54). This kinda worries me. From what I know, I should cut down eating meat? I don't have a healthy diet, 90% of my diet is meat(chicken). Can't help it. What can I do in order to reduce my uric acid level? Is there any medication that I can take? Btw, i'm 30, 157cm and 50kg. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks a lot.

Re: Please Help
Excessive uric acid in the circulation could be due to increased production of uric acid by metabolism, decreased removal of uric acid by the kidneys or excessive intake foods which lead to the production of uric acid. You fall in the third category wherein there is more intake of meat which is causing your problem. You need to undergo some kidney function tests too.
Homeopathic medicine has good remedies like colchicum, hydrastis, berb vulgaris etc. To increase the removal of uric acid.

Re: Please Help -- On Elevated Uric Acid, Sgot & Sgpt
Hi fireblade,

sorry your post caught my attention late. You have an elevated blood uric acid level of 570 mmol/l (normal: less than 420) and elevated sgot & sgpt readings. They indicate you may have a problem with the kidneys or other organs. The problem seems to be more than just the diet can do. If you have not already done so, I strongly suggest you see an internist or a nephrologist (kidney doctor) to track it down what is causing the problem. Take care.
