Q: Ghsv-2, Exactly Where Is the Shedding?

If I were to have sex with a women that did not have herpes, how can I completely protect her? I know the standard answer is "she can never be completely protected".

But if I were to were some fancy latex underwear, would that not stop the virus from leaving me? Does a GHSV-2 person shed the virus above the waste at all? How about on the thighs? I have no sores or leasions.

Use condoms obviously. If you don't have any sores, I don't think the transmission from shedding would happen- I think that's just if you have sores but I'm not sure.

There are medications that you can take as well (and she can) if you're in a relationship that would keep her from getting it. Talk to your doc!
