my wife has been on depression medication for 5 years and has completely lost her sex drive. Is there anything that will help?

I don't know. I know that when I went on anti-depressants, I definitely lost my sex drive for awhile. I felt like I had been chemically castrated. No sexual feelings, thoughts, urges... nothing.

Although it did come back, it was still not as sharp as it is now that I"m off them. Your best bet is to talk to a doctor to see if she can change meds (if she's up for it) or if she can try certain mental techniques to help the sex drive. It's worth a shot!

Especially eHealthy
Wellbutrin is thought to have less of an effect on sex drive, you could try that.

Basically, she should talk to her doc about it and find a drug that doesn't have this effect but still works for her.

Yes, I too have had that happen to me. I am not sure which medication did it. The med I am on now seems to have a different interation for me.

Geez and here I thought it was just old age! Seriously though, I've noticed a pretty significant drop in the sex drive, but if happiness comes at the price of a little less sex I'll take it.
