i need help as wheever i am home alone im always looking in the frifge and cupboards for food and i cant help it.

Keep urself busy and get out and do things eventually the feeling will go away. Exercise it helps control hunger. Drink liquids instead of eating. Eat healthy when hungry eat raisons celery apples pears carrots soups ect. U can eat those all day and still have less calorie intake then a full meal or chocolate bars

I do that too! I think it's called boardom eating.
And ya, especially when I'm alone too. I think, "cool! I can eat all this food and toss it cause nobody is here to be grossed out as I tottaly stuff my face. And I wont have to try and be quiet in the bathroom". I could do that crap all day. I just sooo love food. It SUCKS!!......I soooo hate food...

i do yoga regularly, which is supposed to keep you in fit..but lately i've actually been eating alot. so i swore off junk food, like chips brownies cake anything greasy or fried, for the sake of my health and shedding a few pounds..but today, i wieghed myself and i weight 137, i'm only 5'2. which is bad..but worse, my body fat percentage is 31.2 and my bmi is 24.7..i need some help, even though i'm eating healthier, how can i stop eating as much without feeling disgustingly hungry soon afterwards?

Hi mandarapue,

The type of food you're eating may be a factor. Though you've cut out unhealthy foods (which is awesome!) you have to make sure you replace it with healthy foods that are filling.

Fiber filled fruit and vegetables can be filling. So can whole grains. Try coupling these with lean meats (preferably fish or poultry) and low fat dairy products. If you have a diet rich in fiber, you should feel full longer and not hungry. At the same time, you should lose weight. Smile

i eat when im bored and upset, tired and angry i just cant help it im 12 and a whopping 15 stone. help please i dont want my mum to find out.

Eating out of control
Easier said than done! Go for a walk...call a friend...do something else.. but sometimes the thought is too strong and it is as if it controls you actions too!

When you feel hungry drink water or milk (if you're lactose intolerant drink soy milk) think on why your wanting to eat. Take big breaths in and out imagine yourself far away from where you are some place you love. Or Write in your journal or go for a walk (distract yourself). What I do is I organize my food in bags so i eat a bag of chips for snack and then I write what I eat in a journal. I know how you feel it stinks. But I did this and it took me forever (couple of weeks) to do it but it worked.
