Greetings,
In may of 06 I had my wisdom teeth removed. I was very scared about the procedure to the point whereas I didn't sleep for about 3 days prior to the event.
My procedure went fine and for about 3 weeks afterwards all was normal. Despite being "done" with it I was still worried about getting infected, having difficulties etc.. needless to say I was a little stressed out about this and having my doctor tell me to lose weight.
After 3 weeks I started getting a funny feeling on the right side of my throat whereas when I swallowed it felt as if my tongue was pulling to one side. This came on over about a week or so.
This pulled tongue, difficult swallowing elevated into stuffy ears etc.. To sum it all up I have good days (whereas I feel nearly normal) and I have bad days (whereas my face feels all tense, It's hard to swallow).
I have not pinpointed any pattern of my condition and try my best to "not stress" but always seem to worry.
Now - every few days or so I have episodes (could be linked to stress level) whereas when I try to breath in real fast I sort of "snore" with the back of my tongue. I've been to umteen TMJ doctors none of whom seem to think I have a classic TMJ problem. I've seen my normal doctor whom thinks it's just stress.
I'm trying to lose about 70lbs to get back to an ideal weight of a 26 year old but (like most people) having trouble with it.
My conditions:
- Stuffyness in ears
- Difficulty swallowing
- Pulling sensation on right side of throat
- Fatigue
- Irritable
- Shallow Breathing (sometimes)
I usually always feel better at night as I lay down and in the morning when I wake up. I do think about my problem a lot and can't seem to "ignore it". My anxiety gets so bad that when I eat out with friends I find it hard to finish a meal as I nearly choke - but don't have the problem when eating alone in a comfortable environment.
My father had an issue when he was around my age which was attributed to stress / anxiety and kept him from eating meals and living a fulfilling life. He got over it over about 5 years.
Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated.
