Nursery Help!
Posted: 11-25-07 20:49pm

so esme will be sharing a room with finn (no lavender fairy room yet Sad). his room isn't 100% boy, the walls are green and it's a farm theme. any ideas about what girly touches i could add for esme? the only thing i can think of, and it's not much, is hanging the letters that spell out her name with red gingham ribbon (finn's name is just stuck on the wall).

i have pics of the nursery if that would help. i need suggestions!

Pics would be awesome. The ribbon idea sounds cute. You could also separate the sides and doe a theme for each that kind of tie in. Maybe butterflies and lady bugs for her since that kind of goes with the farm theme?

we have to do some rearranging too. the crib is going to be against the wall where the chair is, the bookcase is going to be next to the crib, finn's toddler bed will be where the bookcase is or switched with the dresser, and i don't know what we're doing with the chair.

ok, i think i've thought of something that has the potential to be wicked cute. my mom is an artist, so she could paint flowers on one wall and then we could nail up a section of white picket fence (the flowers would be taller than the fence). what do you think?

i like ladybugs too!

Sleeping barn cats with violet ribbons on their heads? Lightbugs in girly colors? Maybe some pretty birds?

Ooo, Lightning bugs sound cute too. Anything colorful that relate s to nature would probably go well.

I also like the flowers and the picket fence idea as well.

I like your idea B. Can you do 1 wall boyish, and 1 wall girly? I'd say do 2 walls for each, but then it might get too busy. Could you do their hand prints on the wall?

thanks girls!

i still don't really know what i'm going to do. i'll have to see what kind of giftcards i get at christmas. i can't wait to get started though!

so after rearranging the room in my head, the only wall where the flowers/fence thing would work would be over the radiator under the windows. would that look lame? the fence would be much shorter than i'd originally envisioned.

I think that is a pretty neutral wall color and purple would probably be really pretty with it. Maybe you could do one side girl and one side boy?
