I've been with my boyfriend for almost 21 months (it will be 2 years in March). We knew eachother for about a week before we started dating (seems a little crazy). We have been living together for 16 months. Early in the relationship before we moved out together, we went to the mall, and he wanted to look at engagement rings, I was ecstatic to see that he was serious about our relationship (I had never even mentioned getting married before the first time he wanted to look at rings). Anyways, the relationship went on, and we moved in together. We continued looking at rings together, he always initiated going into the jewlery stores. He even got the employee to write down style numbers and my ring size! So last Christmas, he insisted that we exchange gifts at my parents house on Christmas morning instead of at our apartment. So I was anticipating that he would pop the question at my parents. He didnt.. Then it came Valentines and my birthday (theyre on the same day), and I was again expecting that he would pop the question, and he didnt. We don't look at jewlery stores anymore, but every now and then he talks about "our wedding" when we watch those wedding shows. I feel like I was misled by him. I now think that at the start of our relationship he wanted to seem like he had lots of money in order to impress me. Now when I ask him about marriage he says that hes not ready, and asks me where I got the idea that he was interested in marriage. I told him that when he had me trying on engagement rings, it gave me the idea that he was ready. He replied and said that he just liked to look at the "ring designs". **I don't want to push him into marriage!** However, I hope that we get engaged in the near future, and married in a couple of years. I don't want to push him into anything, but my goal is to be married some day, and if thats not his goal, then we have some big decisions to make.

1) Do you think that he wanted to marry me before, but now hes not sure?
OR
2) Do you think that he never wanted to get married, he just wanted it to seem like he had lots of money?
