Q: Mother Leaves Baby...

My mother and I were walking to pick up Brian after school, and just as you get to the soccer/football/baseball field we see a toddler in her stroller ALONE! Her mother left her there so she didn't have to drag her through the wet(it had been raining all day), mudd-filled grass. Probably a good 30-40 feet.. at least! My mother waits with the child, so i can get Brian from the exit doors.
The mother finally makes her way back to get her.
I was fuming, but i came off very calm. I told she is to NEVER leave her child alone. That someone could have easily have taken her. Her excuse was that she didn't want to push the stroller through the field Rolling Eyes . There's no excuse for that! So, i warned her and went on my way.

Two days later, as i'm leaving the school grounds, i notice that she pulled the stroller in mid-field and again left her there

I was so angry!! I walk up to her and said "If i ever see you leave her again, i'll be contacting CAS! Then they can decide if you're deserving enough to keep her."

I had to! I don't know how i would live with myself if something terrible happens to that little girl Sad

omg i know! we went to Target yesterday afternoon, and keep in mind it was 26 degrees outside... this lady was walking around in a trench coat and snow boots and gloves and her kid didnt even have a jacket or socks on, just a long sleeved shirt and a pair of jeans. I told her she should be ashamed of herself, and shook my head. She was like, *hes old enough to know to dress himself appropriately.*

He couldnt have been more than 3 years old.
I can understand the shoes and socks deal to a degree.. the second jacob gets in the car, off the shoes and socks come.. but now hes got a pair of boots he cant pull off without untying, and i double knot those suckers lol.

As parents we do what we can to keep our kids safe and healthy, and if it means putting his shoes back on before u get out of the car, and carrying him to make sure they stay on, then so be it.

You could always take the child to social services and tell them you found her outside alone, or to the police station. Then it will be on record what that woman has done and hopefully she'll be in trouble.

I know of so many people around here who leave their babies in the car while they run into the gas station or grocery store. They think because it's a small town nothing could happen. I don't let Kaylee out of my sight anywhere, there are way too many crazy people out there! Michelle, I would have done the same thing!

That really is awful. I live in a small town too and I can't count the number of times I have been at the post office or at the little redneck store in town and see little kids left in the car with it running. It makes me sick really.

Oh my! I'm glad you said something to her! I can't stand it when I see people leave their kids in the car. I work at a Bank and people are always running in and leaving their kids in the car! I hate to even step out of my car to pump gas with Brayden in the back seat, I always roll down the window(when it warm) and talk to him through it so he knows I'm there or wave at him through the window when its colder out!

Poor kid! I hope that she learns and this doesn't happen again!
