i know how you feel. i have pcos (polycystic ovarian syndrome) my body produces too many male hormones which is causng the hair growth on me. have you been tested for PCOS? do you tend gain weight really easy and have irregular periods...i have to bleach my chin and jaw line every other week at least if not sooner then that and i know i can put many boys to shame. if you do have pcos you and your doctors will talk about the best way to treat it. i tryed going on the pill and that was a mess, my blood pressure sky rocketed, and the next treatmeant was diabetes meds to control my insulin whch they believe causes pcos and that gave me the shakes and weakness.. but deff get tested for pcos or anyother hormone disorders because those are the main culprts of excessive hair on women...BUT I DO KNOW HOW YOU FEEL IT MAKES SoO SELF CONSCIENCE ...im always thinking everyone can see it but in reality you notice it way more then other people ever do ...

I have PCOS and also have excess hair. After hormonal treatment it has helped a bit. Im now using a lazer hair removal system in a last attempt. I kow how embarressiing it is. My x knew all about the problem as was very understanding. i cover it up so well now my new chap hasnt noticed. i wax, shave and use makeup which really helps but ive been left with bad scars on my tummy where i plucked and started digging when i was younger to get the hairs out. No one else bar me has noticed to be honest. But i know it still plays on the mind whatever.

i realize that this forum is slightly inactive now i guess. but its just so hard to go on and i have no one where i can truly relate to and talk to this about. shaving and waxing does not work for me...its been hard for me to really commit to anyone because of this.

.. i just wish i could wake up one day and all this would be solved.

I completely know how you ladies feel. I have a love-hate relationship with my tweezers. I spend a ridiculous amount of time on hair related rituals (plucking, picking, bleaching, etc.) not to mention the amount of money. The best solution I have found so far is to use laser treatment on small areas (like the face) because it is so expensive. I have also started taking a hormonal pill called Spironolactone. It is supposed to help but takes about 6 months to kick in, so we'll see....
The best advice I can give is to emphasize all those other beautiful parts about you (I'm sure there are many!). If you exude confidence about all of your other fabulous features, people will not give two cents about the hair. Your inner beauty will trump the hair any day. I promise.

It's a shame that women have to deal with such a condition - and it's sick of others to straight-up make fun of people for it.

Personally, I'd be more than happy in the company of a woman with hirsutism... because in the end, you are still a woman.

If any of you ladies want to chat, to have civil conversation and not be judged - write me.

Take care

hey, sorry about your condition. I''m a little hairy too, it sucks. but i don''t think i have pcos ''cause I don''t have some of the other symptoms such as being over weight, acne or irregular periods. but I do get mood swings, depression, always being tired and lots of other symptoms of a hormone imbalance. so I was wondering, since I don''t have the money to go to the doctor if some of you with experience could answer some of my questions.
im 15 by the way.

so seeing that I''m a little hairy, in places such as my butt, stomach and recently between my breasts and around my nipples. and now I''m getting hair follicles on my chest. plus my depression and low adrenalin and tons of other things sort of like bad pms etc.. what do you think? are my testosterone levels to high or is it some other hormone? could it be pcos? and if i go to the doctor soon and get it treated will i be able to level out my hormones and get rid of the hair.

bad pms
I have bad hair problems too. But your bad pms might be pre menstrual dysphoric disorder. Zoloft has helped me with this condition. Unfortunately nothing has helped my extra thickly hairy face.

Hairy as a mother F'r
Hi...Im just in the same stupid sinking boat with you
Sad saying it sux would totally be an understatement. I recently got an epilater, and at LEAST now you cant actually SEE so much hair on my legs, but my hair grows so fast and in so many stages, that my legs are NEVEr smooth Sad also lots of hair on the face and absolutely nothING works bar plucking which takes a tremendous amount of time dammit! To help with the scarring, after plucking I always rub my face liberally with alcohol and while showering I srcub my face with a washcloth and soap, and after coming out of the shower scrub it dry with a towel in the OPPOSITE direction of the hair, then moisturize, this helps to not get ingrown hair, and release hairs which tend to get stuck just below the skin. dont even ask how much time I spend epliating! The only place that isnt really hairy is my forearms?? NOt sure why, but when I epilate them they are totally smooth, I know my legs would be too If I werent so hairy Sad((

Hey Sunshine89.

Sorry to hear about your situation Sad I'm 19 and I have excessive hair too if that helps at all. I have a moustache, hairy nipples and a line of hair in my tummy. my bikini line is quite hairy and whatever I do to get rid of the hair I get a massive horrible rash. I can't shave my underarms more frequently than every 3 days or I get a rash there too.

I can bleach my moustache, I use 'Boots Expert Hair Lightener', I think it's a few British pounds but it lasts quite a long time, maybe you could try that or something like it?

Being hairy affects my confidence as well, it sucks in summer when it's hot and I can't wear a vest-top two days running, and going swimming / to the beach is really difficult too.

I used to be quite underweight when I was younger and even though I was trying to put on weight people thought I was anorexic, including my mum. also my younger sister has G-cup boobs and I'm A-cup and she used to take the mick a lot. so I know how it hurts more when it's your family. I don't think they realise it hurts though, I don't think they want to deliberatly hurt you, they just want a bit of fun and don’t realise the effect it’s having.

People always say that confidence is your most sexy feature, so I guess the aim is to acknowledge your beauty and then be confident and people will notice this more than one or two aspects of your appearance. I’m sure you are very beautiful, I think every girl has some sort of beauty. Maybe you have nice eyes or a nice smile or nice hair or something. Think about those things Smile

But what saddened me most when I read your story was “Is this some kind of punishment from God?” I really, really strongly believe that it is not. I am a Christian and I believe what the Bible says about punishment, that we all deserve it but because God loves us so much he wanted to spare us from that punishment and so he sent his son Jesus to take our punishment for us so that we can go free. Of course, life still has its ups and downs because we live in a broken society. But however much the world sucks I know I have a father who loves me unconditionally and will always be there for me, and when I die I will be with him in paradise forever .

Here’s a passage from the Bible (2 Corinthians 5:1-4) that seems relevant. I hope it helps you Smile

“For instance, we know that when these bodies of ours are taken down like tents and folded away, they will be replaced by resurrection bodies in heaven—God-made, not handmade—and we'll never have to relocate our "tents" again. Sometimes we can hardly wait to move—and so we cry out in frustration. Compared to what's coming, living conditions around here seem like a stopover in an unfurnished shack, and we're tired of it! We've been given a glimpse of the real thing, our true home, our resurrection bodies! The Spirit of God whets our appetite by giving us a taste of what's ahead. He puts a little of heaven in our hearts so that we'll never settle for less.”

Message me back if you wanna talk, I’ll be here Smile

God bless xxx

Hi,im going to be 13 soon and I have the same problem as you.Whenever i tell my eldest sister she says " you can get it threaded when your older" but they dont understand its stolen my confidence. When somebody looks at me,i pretend to itch or any solution to just cover my upper lip. I only noticed this when the boy i liked told me I had a moustache. I HATE IT.HATE IT TO DEATH! My family teases me,but its not my fault,i was born like this. A few weeks back, i asked my mum if i can ask my doctor and she replied "NO,its just your body hair" She doesnt understand, shes like everyone else! My brother calls me Tasha.. ( Tash- short for moustache)
I re searched why i have this, its called 'hirsutism'
when i read this, i cried, cried because there is some one out there like me,who suffers like me, and who understands me.

I'm going to go to the doctors and ask why,and if its successful ( fingers crossed)i can help you

Tasnim xx

Hi ladies! i am 24, and i have struggling with hirsutism since i was 15! My dad is super hairy too, so i guess the disease is inherited, cos i was examined and i have no problems whatsoever that may have caused this . i have hairs almost everywhere, and they are not light hairs, but long coarse ones, they reach up to 2-3 cm on legs. i can say i am 'lucky', as the hairs are light and at least it does not strike the eye, but i am very uncomfortable to talk to people in the bright light, as they become extremely noticeable:((. as i said i have been dealing with them for almost ten years(my god, has it been this much??) and so far the best solution to that is electrolysis, i bought the home electrolysis machine online and have been using it for less than a year, and the hairs on the face is almost gone!!! ladies, i strongly recommend to use this at least on the face (as IT IS time consuming and quite painful), cos face is what strangers notice first when you come across them, right? As for the legs and butt, i prefer to have them waxed (i do it myself as i am embarrassed to go the beauty salons:(().

I am happy i can share my problem with other gals that understand me, cos i am soooo sick of it, i think about my problem 24/7, i consider 'regular' girls to be lucky, as they do not break in tears every time they look closely in the mirror:((. Anyway i am an optimist and i know, girls, we will overcome it;)). i would be really grateful if i could chat to any of you.

Hi,
I struggle with excess hair too and can fully relate to what you are saying. I haven't talked to anyone about it except for my doctor and the nurse at the laser clinic I go to. I have been having laser for about a year but there is still so much hair and I hoped that this would fix it so I can start living life to my full potential. Sometimes I totally feel like giving up, but I have to believe there's hope that I can get past this and start truly living.

You say you brought a home electrolysis kit. Was it expensive and has it left any scarring? I'm worried it would leave more of a mess than I already have. I also read about the latest laser technology that apparently gets rid of even blonde hairs. I have yet to find a place that actually offers it. Have you heard about it?

Thanks heaps for sharing. Although it suxs other people go through what I do, it's also nice to know I'm not completely alone.

Lacey.

You should talk to your doctor if your are suffering from this...mine put me on spironolactone which has helped regulate the hormones and decrease the hair growth...if I go off of it...the hair come back!
