Q: Missed 8 Days of Bcp Between Packs

So last Saturday, before I left school to go home for Thanksgiving, I stopped by Planned Parenthood to pick up my BCP but they were closed during their open hours!

So there was nothing I could do about delaying the start of my new pack. I can pick it up Monday and restart on Monday but I will have gone 10 days off the pill.

Also I didn't think about this until today (a week later) but I did have sex on Friday after missing the first pill of my new pack AND I didn't get to start my new pack on Saturday b/c they were closed. I had just ended my last day of sugar pills the day before. Is there a huge chance of getting pregnant if you essentially stop BCP and then have sex on the first night of missing the pill? Now I am really worried.

There is a SLIGHT CHANCE.

REMEMBER, pregnancy does not happen the DAY you have sex, pregnancy is a PROCESS which takes up to 2 weeks to fully occur.

Here is what you SHOULD do.

1) take plan b.

2) Start REGULAR BC immediately, as it is okay to use plan b and BC together.

You need to wait 7 full days to be protected from pregnancy.

nevermind i figured it out, i'll go get the plan b ASAP... will it still work after 7 or 8 days?

and if i'm supposed to get a physical anyway within the next month, should i see about getting a blood test to make sure i'm not pregnant?

No, after 5 days it's not effective.

The blood test sounds like a smart idea.
