Q: Allergy to alcohol ? rash, lump, and blister on back of neck
asked by: DoctorQuestion on November 24th, 2007
Hello, i just wanted to ask a few questions, sorry if i posted this under the wrong subject as i dont really know what it is.

So, i was at a party a few days ago and cut a long story short, in the following days i started getting a rash on my neck, a scab on my ear, weird blister things on the back of my neck that pop and a lump in my neck with a smaller lump near to it. i was just wondering if you knew what this is and whether it was a reaction to the achohol or something? thanks for any help you can provide me with.

Given the symptoms you report of a rash, scab, “weird blister things”, and lumps on the back of your neck you could be experiencing some type of skin inflammation. Skin inflammation can be due to infection, allergy or local toxic irritation. It doesn’t seem likely to me that the skin lesion is a “reaction to alcohol”. You can visit your GP and a dermatologist if necessary.
